Urban Terror is a multi-player, first-person shooter developed by Frozen Sand. This game was originally a Quake III mod that became very popular. Due to this popularity, developers where still updating the game even if the Quake III days were over. At the end, they decided to use IOQuake to make a standalone version of the game. That is the Urban Terror of today, a free first-person shooter. The game features real-life weapons, although it claims it does not strive for total realism. It just has a mixed blend of realism and arcade action. Urban Terror has the following modes of game-play: Free For All, Team Death-match, Team Survivor, Capture The Flag, Capture and Hold, Follow the Leader and Bomb Mode. These modes of game-play are entertaining given that the maps in the official release are very well-done. The best thing is that the game is still played by many gamers, so there is no shortage of servers and leagues available. Urban Terror is an excellent choice to frag some time online. |
